Overview
We are recruiting a motivated and ambitious Paralegal to join our Major Injury and Casualty team in Southampton. Our specialist insurance team includes a large renowned Catastrophic and Major Injury Team, focusing on complex and major injury claims and advice. As a Paralegal, you will support our legal team in delivering high‑quality services to clients and will have progression opportunities to grow within the firm.

We have adopted a hybrid‑working model where colleagues enjoy a mix of home working and attending the Southampton office.
Responsibilities
* Assist fee earners and support qualified individuals with case progression through the litigation process, including disclosure, witness and expert evidence and preparing for trials/JSMs.
* Act as a trusted member of the team while taking responsibility for tasks, including updating files, reviewing confidential records and liaising with third parties.
* Engage with clients and stakeholders to gather and organise information.
* Provide administrative support to ensure smooth operation of the legal team.
* Support the team in managing case files and maintain accurate records while keeping the CMS up to date.
* Act on cases in line with departmental and client service standards and protocols.
What will help you succeed in this role?
Essential Qualifications
* Interest in EL/PL, RTA, personal injury or catastrophic injury cases, preferably with previous experience.
* Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks while working to strict deadlines.
* Basic to intermediate IT and keyboard skills, knowledge of Word and Excel.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Flexibility, willingness to learn on the job and participate in learning and development opportunities.
* Excellent administration and organisational skills.
* Ability to work to set deadlines and service levels.
* High attention to detail, with ability to analyse files and sensitive data quickly and carefully.
Desirable Qualifications
* Background working within a busy commercial environment.
