Role Overview: As a Workshop Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the workshop. Your leadership and organisational skills will be essential in maintaining a productive and safe environment. You will be guiding a team, ensuring stock control, and supporting the development of trainees. Key Responsibilities: * Leadership and Support: Lead and motivate a team of skilled mechanics, fostering a positive and efficient working environment. Support staff in their roles and assist in their professional development. * Safety and Compliance: Ensure the workshop adheres to all health and safety regulations, creating a safe environment for all employees. Conduct regular safety meetings and audits to maintain high standards. * Mechanic Duties: Utilize your Level 3 Mechanic skills and MOT certification to support the team in delivering top-quality vehicle services. Provide technical assistance and share your expertise with staff, ensuring high standards of work. * Assisting Trainees: Mentor and assist trainees to boost their skills and progress within the company. Create development plans and offer training sessions to enhance their competencies. * Stock Control: Manage and maintain an efficient stock control system. Ensure that all necessary tools and parts are available, conducting regular inventory checks and audits. * Customer Service: Uphold the reputation of the workshop by ensuring excellent customer service. Address client queries and concerns promptly and professionally. * Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and efficient service delivery. Participate in cross-functional meetings to align strategies and goals. Qualifications and Experience: * Essential: Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role. * Essential: Level 3 Mechanic certification and a valid MOT certificate. * Strong organisational skills with a focus on detail and accuracy. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively lead and support the team. * Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. * Experience in stock management and inventory control.
