The Role
Our Somerset Civil Team seeks a Rural Civils Operative to operate machinery such as Vibratory Mole Plough and Directional Drilling equipment, supporting network installation across varied terrains. You will work under experienced team leaders within our Civil Engineering Department, initially focusing on operating machinery like Kubota diggers and supporting trenchless installation methods.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team
* Operate excavation machinery for fibre installation and manhole/cabinet construction
* Identify and report issues affecting progress
* Perform maintenance checks on machinery
* Follow safe working practices and report hazards
* Support training of new team members
Applicants Require
* Ability to work outdoors in various environments
* Competence with plant and machinery
* Enjoy active outdoor work
* Full UK driving license
* Experience with agricultural land, excavation, or cable/pipe works
Preferred but Not Essential
* B&E trailer license
* CSCS certification
* Street Works / Cable Avoidance qualification

Compensation & Hours
£29,000 - £35,000 per annum (based on experience), 45 hours/week plus overtime. Monday to Friday. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
