Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 6
Location: NW7 | Start Date: 16/09/2025 | Pay: £100 per day
A mainstream primary school in NW7 is looking for a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for two pupils in Year 6 with EHCPs. This is a full-time role for a confident, enthusiastic graduate who can combine warmth with strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly.
The Role
Working across the Year 6 classroom, you will be assigned to two pupils with additional needs:
* Pupil 1: Autistic, with some ADHD – requiring focused encouragement to sustain motivation, maintain concentration, and achieve alongside peers.
* Pupil 2: Requires confidence-building and structured guidance to develop independence and stay engaged in lessons.
You will help both children participate fully in class, while also contributing to a positive and inclusive atmosphere for the wider Year 6 group.
What You'll Do
* Provide tailored academic and emotional support for two EHCP pupils.
* Use scaffolded approaches to build confidence, structure, and independence.
* Encourage participation in lessons and peer activities, without over-reliance on adult support.
* Work with the class teacher and SEND team to share observations and adapt strategies.
* Support day-to-day classroom routines and activities to benefit the whole class.
* Remain patient, adaptable, and proactive in responding to pupil needs.
What We're Looking For
* A graduate with strong spoken and written English.
* Previous experience working with children with SEND (autism/ADHD an advantage).
* Energetic, proactive, and quick to understand pupil needs.
* Warm, approachable, and committed to promoting self-esteem.
* A team player who works well with staff and pupils.
* Available to start immediately.
