As a PE teacher you will support and teach pupils a range of subjects including health and physical education and a wide range of sports, up to GCSE level. The school puts a big emphasis on the importance of engagement in physical education and the transferable values and skills that participation in sports can bring beyond the school years. Planning and marking will not be a part of this role but the ability to build rapport with teenagers and establish authority without being heavy handed will be necessary.
Guiding the pupils in developing their sense of leadership, organisation, resilience and responsibility should be one of your top priorities in this role.
