Job Description
Overall job purpose
To provide routine company secretarial support to a portfolio of selected client companies. To provide technical support and administrative support to the Corporate Secretarial team. The opportunity to undergo training to develop a career as a chartered governance professional will be available for the right candidate. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
1. Providing routine company secretarial support to a portfolio of selected client companies, including maintenance of statutory registers, preparation and filing of the confirmation statement, and documentation related to transactions.
2. Managing work in progress and billing under supervision.
3. Providing administrative support, including filing, raising fee notes, and ensuring compliance with the Companies Act 2006.
4. Assisting with client onboarding, record-keeping, and engagement procedures.
5. Supporting disengagement procedures for dissolved or transferred client companies.
6. Sorting and distributing post as required.
7. Ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
8. Reporting issues to senior staff promptly.
9. Seeking feedback and recording daily work time.
10. Developing technical knowledge through reading and courses.
11. Adhering to company policies and procedures.
12. Performing other ad hoc tasks as needed.
Personal and professional qualities
The role requires:
1. An interest in Company Law, Secretarial Practice, or Anti-Money Laundering legislation, with a desire to develop in this field.
2. Education to at least A Level standard or equivalent, with at least grade B GCSE in English and Maths.
3. Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
4. Good IT skills, especially in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
