Industrial Disease Solicitor – Leeds – Up to £50,000
A well-established and expanding claimant personal injury team is seeking to appoint a solicitor with a strong background in industrial disease litigation. The team specialises in a broad range of occupational illness claims, including asbestos-related diseases, noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) and occupational stress, acting on behalf of private individuals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload from initial instruction through to resolution, including both pre-litigation and fully litigated matters. The role will involve conducting detailed liability and quantum assessments, drafting pleadings, managing disclosure and evidence and handling witness statements and expert reports. You will also have the opportunity to undertake advocacy at interim hearings where appropriate.
This position offers a varied and hands-on workload, with exposure to complex disease litigation and the chance to develop strong technical and advocacy skills within a supportive team environment.
The Candidate
* Solicitor with NQ+ post-qualification experience (or equivalent)
* Strong experience in claimant personal injury, with a focus on industrial disease work
* Experience handling asbestos-related illness and other occupational disease claims
* Commercially aware with enthusiasm for business development
* Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Confident in advocacy, with experience managing interim hearings
