THE ROLE
Valuations Manager/Senior Manager – UK
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical individual to join our Corporate Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing detailed valuations of assets, businesses and financial instruments. This role will involve working closely with senior stakeholders, clients and other teams within the company to provide accurate and well-supported valuations that assist in decision-making, mergers & acquisitions, financial reporting and other business initiatives.
Purpose Of The Role/key Responsibilities
* Perform valuations for various types of assets, using appropriate valuation methodologies (income, market, and cost approaches).
* Supervising the preparation of valuation reports and models, including supporting appendices and exhibits.
* Build and maintain financial models to determine the value of companies, investments, or assets, including conducting sensitivity and scenario analyses.
* Collect and analyse market data, financial statements, and industry trends to support valuations. Ensure the accuracy and relevance of all data used in the analysis.
* Prepare clear, concise and well-supported valuation reports and presentations for clients, internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
* Work with internal teams, including investment, tax, accounting, and legal, to understand the valuation context and provide tailored solutions for specific projects.
* Maintain a current understanding of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that impact valuation practices.
* Communicate with clients to understand their needs, explain valuation results, and answer questions related to the valuation process.
* Supervising the junior staff in the team.
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, valuation guidelines and regulatory requirements. Maintain proper documentation for all valuations performed.
Experience and skill set required for the role:
* Previous experience with a proven track record in valuations across various industries including valuations for tax purposes.
* Experience of delivering valuations for a variety of purposes and across multiple industries would be desirable. In particular, experience of writing reports and completing analyses for contentious and non-contentious valuations.
* Qualified accountant preferred but not required - ACA/CA/ACCA/CFA or equivalent.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling and financial statement analysis.
* Strong understanding of valuation methodologies, accounting principles and financial markets.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* High degree of accuracy and precision in financial analysis and reporting.
* Ability to think critically and address complex valuation challenges.
* Able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
* Experience in client-facing roles, particularly in advising on valuations for M&A, investment decisions or financial reporting.
