This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a range of SEN schools and specialist provisions, supporting students with diverse needs, including social, emotional and mental health challenges, complex learning needs, speech and language difficulties, autism and ADHD. You will assist with classroom activities, provide 1:1 support, and contribute to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Key responsibilities:
Your role will vary depending on the school and the role, but main responsibilities include:
* Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, activities, and interventions
* Working closely with students in small groups or one-to-one, supporting their learning and development
* Creating a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for all students
* Adapting to the individual needs of children, following the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
* Collaborating effectively with staff and building positive relationships with students
Requirements:
* Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is essential (experience in SEN settings is desirable)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to adapt to different school environments and student needs
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting young learners
* Ability to drive is preferred, as it opens up more opportunities for work
* An enhanced child workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
