Overview
Admission and discharge of patients. Pre and post operative care. Assisting in treatment room procedures. Working closely with the MDT team. Supporting student nurses in the workplace. Participate in maintaining a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for all patients and carers and maintain agreed standards of nursing care. Determines nursing priorities and plans patient care. Informs the nurse in charge when changes in circumstances may affect patient care. Maintain nursing records in accordance with the NMC and Trust guidelines. Maintain and improve quality of patient care through contribution to the development of Essence of Care and clinical benchmarking within the unit. Ensure due regard is given to customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients. Providing information and support to patients/carers, and ensuring all those involved in the care are aware of changes in the patients\' condition. Assist in the safe custody, checking and administration of drugs.
Providing high quality nursing care within the unit, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working skills and dedication to improving the patients experience. You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong commitment to develop others and work closely within a Multi-disciplinary team. Full time and part time posts available. The successful candidate must be driven to develop new skills and knowledge whilst always keeping the patient at the centre of what they do. They must be a positive role model and lead by example. Applicants must possess excellent communication skills, have a flexible working approach and a willingness to work as part of a forward thinking team, as well as a strong commitment to ensuring a positive hospital experience for patients and their relatives/carers.
