Residential Childcare Worker
Location: Lockerbie. Contract: Full Time. Working hours: 37.5 per week. Salary: £25,642‑£26,032 per annum (depends on qualification) plus £67.50 per sleep‑in. You can expect around 10 sleep‑ins per month, adding roughly £8,000 per year.
Shift pattern: 2 on & 4 off with overnight sleep‑ins.
A full UK manual driving licence is required and sponsorship will not be offered.
Overview
This role supports young people with daily routines, including preparing them for school, meal times, and activities. Your work will create a warm, homely environment and build strong relationships.
Responsibilities
* Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.
* Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
* Plan and join activities such as trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects.
* Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
* Use an electronic care recording system daily. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage but not essential; training will be provided.
Working Environment
Cushathill is a warm cottage that supports four young people. It is located on the outskirts of Dumfries and Galloway and features a modern kitchen and an emphasis on outdoor activities.
