What will my core responsibilities be?
Our Building Systems Management Engineer will have expert operator knowledge and be responsible for completing complex repairs, to the resolution of minor issues. Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will work closely with our Client and be the main point of contact ensuring that the University’s plant and equipment operates in an efficient manner.
* Work as part of the Team with responsibility for the completion of daily monitoring, control, reactive and pre-planned maintenance to building management control systems and other monitoring systems and associated assets.
* Completion of reactive and remedial repairs as directed by the Helpdesk which will include installation and testing of associated plant and equipment dependent on relevant experience.
* Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with the building management system and plant.
* Source parts, materials and seek manufacturer technical support where required.
* Provide detailed daily reports to identify any plant or systems failures and update of actions and works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
* Provide remote assistant for Open Days and ECC events Remote investigation via BMS laptop, with any site works to be completed by on-call engineer
* Open Days carry out the weekday early morning checks by 08:00 and report any issues to the on-call engineer/UWE Duty staff. Provide telephone support for heating/cooling issues raised through-out the day and reported by UWE Duty staff
* ECC Events shall be issued on a monthly basis, requests are received direct from UWE building staff to raise/lower set-points and investigate,
* Engage with our BMS Specialist Contractor to work through any associated technical solutions or issues.
* Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
* Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
* Provide regular out-of-hours cover on a rota system.
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
* Understanding of building services, HVAC and BMS applications
* A qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, having completed a relevant apprenticeship within your trade.
* C&G 2382 18th Edition
* Hold a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to planned, reactive and remedial maintenance of BMS control systems.
* CSCS or ECS Card
* Current Full UK Driver’s License
* CSCS or ECS Card
* Confident user of PDA;s
