Overview
SPX Cooling Tech, LLC in Worcester is looking for a hands-on Shop Floor Supervisor to manage our dynamic production environment. You’ll oversee the fabrication and assembly of modules weekly, ensuring work is allocated effectively, completed safely, and meets our high-quality standards. This role is not office-based—you’ll be actively involved on the shop floor and across our facilities, managing staff and subcontractors alike.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and allocate work to shop floor staff and subcontractors, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time completion.
* Manage production planning, timing, and materials handling.
* Focus on static build in a production line environment.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency (CI initiatives).
* Oversee both internal and external applications of products.
* Maintain safety standards, conduct toolbox talks, and drive 5S and health & safety audits.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and relevant regulations.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a supervisory role in a production/manufacturing environment.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a mixed workforce.
* Experience in production planning and managing subcontractors.
* Understanding of materials handling and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Knowledge of Lean, Kanban, or CI methodologies.
* Computer literate, with Microsoft Office proficiency; SAP/RADAN knowledge is a plus.
* Fork truck or overhead crane licence advantageous.
