As someone who understands food manufacturing processes and experienced in commercilizing new processes and equiupments; as our project engineer you will lead process deployment projects throughout Europe Region for Foods Category initiatives covering; risk assessment processes (the scoping of new processes and equipments to understand their capability to achieve target product design), make/buy design process mapping (building a map of knowledge to capture the equipments we have for each process, understand our assets, what models we are typically using, their locations etc.), capacity boost projects and supporting Global initiatives under PEP process agenda. Directly report to the Europe Foods R&D Process Deployment Manager. Responsibilities Accountabilities will be cross-brand (Snacks and Grains) and across a broad range of process technologies. By closely collaborationg with the internal and global R&D partners and Supply Chain teams; including engineering design, engineering execution, site operation and quality teams, equipment supplier and co-manufacturers: Involve in new equipment & process risk assessment processess to scope their capability of producing target design and support buy/no buy decisions. Lead development, testing and qualification of process systems and equipments within internal and external resources, in support of category initiatives. Lead scale-up tests at manufacturing locations, data collection/analysis and timely communication of trip reports highlighting results and key next steps. Work with and support Food Safety and Quality to ensure all components and process systems are capable of producing and sustaining safe and stable products. Design and execute Design of Experiment to screen, model, verify and ensure statistical capability and robustness of pilot and commercial processes. Creating and updating a map of knowledge to capture equipments, processes, assets, models at Pepsico sites covering all Foods Category. Proactively identify skill/capability and system gaps when encountered. Propose corrective actions including coaching, training courses and new/modified processes. Contribute to workstreams to improve ways of working across the team e.g. improvement of business processes to drive greater efficiencies, sharing of knowledge to create better team cohesion & developing others through coaching & embedding best practise. Actively participate and moderate regular technology connect meetings and issue meeting notes. Qualifications Functional experience: BSc., MSc. or PhD. in Engineering, preferably in Chemical or Food Engineering, or in Food Science with a minimum of 3-4 years experience in process engineering, development, or commercialization within the FMCG sector. Experience in the Food and Beverage industry is a plus In-depth analytical skills to interpret complex data and distil into meaningful information e.g. interpreting process data, experimental design and statistical process control inference Demonstrated performance in developing and commercializing new processes/products /equipments in collaboration with CTS, Quality, Food Safety, Supply Chain, Marketing, suppliers, 3PM etc. Demonstrated ability to function effectively in stressful, fast-paced situations, with the personal leadership to influence and positively motivate self and peers. Good presentation and communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to travel within Europe and internationally estimated 25-30%
