This vacancy is for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager on Chaucer Ward at Meadowbrook unit, which provides mental health support for adults of working age. The unit includes 2 male acute wards (Eagleton 19 beds and Maccoll 18 beds), one female acute ward (Keats 22 beds), and one male PICU (8 beds).
The role emphasizes patient-centered care and therapeutic engagement, supporting clinical interventions and leadership on a shift basis. You will collaborate with the Ward Manager to develop nursing care, ensure it meets service user needs, is culturally appropriate, and complies with professional standards.
You will take charge of shifts, act as a primary nurse, and maintain effective communication with all care team members. You will also oversee staff development through coaching, mentoring, audits, supervision, and training. Deputising for the ward manager and leading nursing issues and team collaboration are key responsibilities.

* Acting as quality inspectors, reporting errors and risks, and helping to resolve issues.
* Proactively identifying risks and acting to resolve them, liaising with management.
* Participating in risk management practices to ensure patient safety.
