Soft FM Services are responsible for cleaning, portering and ancillary services to the university’s academic, administrative, commercial and residential estate. Soft FM facilitates all university key events, such as graduation and open days and ensures areas are prepared for other events such as receptions and summer conferences. The service is also responsible for student accommodation cleaning and portering and the management of postal services.
Soft FM Services is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Team Clean Manager to join our busy team. The successful candidate will have experience managing teams of semiskilled individuals and ideally have experience in the provision of soft services.
We are looking for a self-motivated and flexible individual who has a real passion for delivering cleaning, portering and ancillary services, has management experience and is eager to work in a university setting.
Appointment to this post will be made on a full-time (38 hours per week) permanent basis to be worked as required within the working operational window of 5.30am – 10.00pm Monday – Friday and 5.30am – 1.45pm Saturday and Sunday, 5 days in 7 days.
The current working pattern is a rotating shift pattern (week 1 early start, week 2 late start) with occasional weekend shifts required. Working pattern to be discussed and full detail agreed with candidate.
This appointment is for a fixed-term of 12 months in order to provide cover for a permanent member of staff who is absent from work on maternity leave. You should note that there is provision in the terms of appointment for this fixed-term post to end earlier by due notice (1 month) if the permanent member of staff decides to return early to her post.
