Secondary Teaching Assistant – Brighton Area

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a reliable and motivated Secondary Teaching Assistant to work on a supply basis in a vibrant and inclusive school in the Brighton area.
About the Role:
We are partnering with a forward-thinking secondary school that values support, inclusivity, and academic achievement. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students across various subjects and year groups (Key Stages 3 and 4), helping them to stay engaged, understand the material, and reach their full potential.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in education and is looking for flexible work with meaningful impact—whether you're experienced in schools or just starting your journey in education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide in-class support to students, assisting with their understanding and participation in lessons
* Work with individual students or small groups, under the direction of the class teacher
* Support students with special educational needs (SEN), where required
* Help maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
* Assist with classroom preparation and resource organisation
* Contribute to the wider school community by supporting extra-curricular activities or intervention sessions
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience working with young people or in an educational setting (preferred but not essential)
* Previous experience working with SEND (preferred but not essential)
* A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting students
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A genuine interest in education and helping young people succeed
* Willingness to work across a variety of subjects and year groups

Pay: Competitive
Hours: 8:30am – 15:30pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
