Role Purpose To motivate and lead the admissions team to welcome visitors to the Project, setting the standard and tone for the day and driving the business performance and profitability in order to benefit the charitable aims of the Trust. To supervise the delivery of an efficient and effective admissions operation under the guidance and support of the Retail & Admissions Manager. Key Accountabilities To ensure one-team working in order to deliver an efficient admissions process as well as world class customer service. Work with the Retail & Admissions Manager to enthuse and maintain a friendly, polite and professional approach at all times. Providing a genuine warm welcome at the start of the visitor’s day. To recruit, train, develop and set up the admissions team on a daily basis to ensure accurate till transactions whilst engaging with the visitor to maximise gift aid income and guide book revenue. Maintaining excellent communication with the Retail & Admissions Manager regarding rotas & schedules to ensure the team runs smoothly. To act as the supervisor on duty for the day and actively support the admissions team by assisting and engaging with visitor enquiries and queries swiftly, efficiently and politely. An understanding of the health & safety and welfare needs of the team and visitors. Working with the Retail & Admissions Manager and Duty Managers to ensure that concerns, problems are dealt with appropriately. Keep up to date with Eden’s daily activities and events in order to communicate to the team in order to inspire our visitors to discover Eden and everything it stands for. With the appropriate training and support you may be required to work in the retail, hospitality and events, stewards and car parking teams according to business need. Demands of the Role Education & qualifications The job holder is required to have a high level of literacy and numeracy including Maths and English GCSE grades A-C. Knowledge & skills ICT literate with a very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. The ability to plan, manage and organize your own work and the work of other team members. At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role. Decision- making Make day to day decisions in order to complete duties. Fluctuating daily visitor numbers will mean decisions to be made on staff deployment. Any complex, business critical decision making will be escalated to the Retail & Admissions Manager. Resourcefulness Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own and tackle challenges head on with a positive, adaptive ‘can-do’ attitude. The ability to work with other teams to plan and schedule delivery on site in the most organised and streamlined and sometimes creative way possible, often to extremely tight deadlines. Working within existing processes and procedures. People & asset management Supervising a team of up to 15 during peak. Shared responsibility for care and maintenance of admissions equipment and assets. Communication & visitor experience Communicate with a wide variety of people, both colleagues & visitors as well as dealing with daily visitor problems and queries. The job holder is required to communicate verbally and in writing. Operational environment This role is an operational role which will involve liaising with colleagues at the same level and other relevant teams. You will need to be able to self-motivate and work on your own although you will have regular contract with the Retail & Admissions manager, Duty managers & Visitor Service manager.
