Job Title: Prison Industry Manager
Overview: We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Prison Industry Manager to lead and develop vocational training and industrial workshops within a secure environment. This key management role focuses on creating purposeful work opportunities that develop prisoners' skills and prepare them for post-release employment.
Responsibilities:
* Mobilise and develop new industry spaces and workstreams
* Oversee daily operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met
* Manage and support instructors and cover instructors to deliver engaging work
* Implement robust processes for tool control, health and safety, stock management, and compliance
* Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employer contracts
* Collaborate with departments such as CIAG, Healthcare, and Neurodiversity Support to meet individual needs
* Utilise data and insights to drive performance and continuous improvement
* Support prisoner progression through coaching, feedback, and development conversations
Qualifications and Skills:
* Strong leadership with operational insight, people management skills, and a passion for rehabilitation
* Experience leading industrial or vocational training programmes, preferably in secure settings
* Operational skills including stock control, budget management, compliance, and resource planning
* Proven ability to manage teams, improve performance, and foster accountability
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and risk management
* Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including external employers and internal teams
* Relevant degree (e.g., Business Management, Education, Vocational Training)
* Experience working in a prison, secure, or similar environment
Schedule and Salary:
This is a full-time role, 38.5 hours per week, with a salary up to £37,000.
