Part-Time Family Support Worker (18.5 hrs – Maternity Cover)
Location: Willow House, 2 Chelmsley Circle, Chelmsley Wood, B37 5UH
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Family Support Worker to join our team on a part-time basis (0.5 FTE) to cover maternity leave until November 2026.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in Family Time/Contact supervision, who is confident working with children, parents, and professionals to ensure safe, structured, and child-centred contact sessions.
? Hours We are looking for someone who can cover:
Monday – Thursday: 2pm – 6pm
(Some flexibility available and earlier finishes may be possible)
Potential Saturday work on rotation (not every week, flexible)
Total weekly hours: 18.5
? Key Responsibilities
Supervising Family Time/Contact sessions and undertaking detailed observations and assessments.
Ensuring children are never left alone with family members during contact.
Providing support, advice, and guidance to parents where appropriate.
Ensuring all sessions remain child-centred, with no discussion of care plans or inappropriate topics.
Transporting children to and from Family Time sessions (essential).
Liaising with Social Workers, IROs, and other professionals.
Using knowledge of child development and age-appropriate needs to guide practice.
