RecQuest is proud to be supporting a highly respected and well-established law firm in their search for experienced and driven Criminal Solicitors to join their dynamic team operating across Southampton.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a solid foundation in criminal law who are passionate about delivering high-quality legal representation. Duty Solicitor accreditation is highly desirable, though not essential.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the criminal law team, you will be responsible for:
* Providing expert legal advice and representation to clients at police stations, Magistrates' Courts, Crown Courts, and other relevant tribunals.
* Managing a varied caseload, conducting in-depth legal research, and analysing case facts and legislation.
* Preparing legal documentation including client correspondence, witness statements, and court pleadings.
* Leading case preparation efforts, including evidence gathering, witness interviews, and liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service.
* Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders across the criminal justice system.
* Participating in the local Duty Solicitor scheme and contributing to the firm's out-of-hours rota, offering on-call support when required.
* Ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and internal protocols, including accurate record-keeping and confidentiality.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should ideally possess:
* Duty Solicitor accreditation (essential)
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as travel to courts and client meetings is essential.
* Strong advocacy, communication, and interpersonal skills.
