Stafffinders are currently looking for Sous Chefs to work in a variety of well-established venues across Glasgowand the surrounding area, including weekdays and weekends. Salary can be up to £38,000 per annum depending on the client.
Your responsibilities as a Sous Chef
Your responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:
* Support the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
* Supervise, motivate, and train kitchen staff to maintain high culinary and hygiene standards.
* Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.
* Maintain quality control across all dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, portion, and presentation.
* Monitor stock levels, control costs, and assist with ordering and inventory management.
* Uphold all food safety, health, and hygiene regulations in line with company and legal standards.
* Take charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring seamless service delivery.
* Contribute creative ideas for new dishes, specials, and menu improvements.
* Ensure effective communication and teamwork across all kitchen sections.
* Manage time efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining composure and leadership.
Your personality, experience and qualifications
We are looking for Sous Chef's who are ready to join a team on a permanent basis and hit the ground running. You will have sound knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements, as well as knowledge of health and safety procedures.
You should have a strong ability to work as part of a team and independently. As an individual, you should have excellent attention to detail, possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude and be able to meet targets in a highly demanding environment.
