We're working on behalf of a leading manufacturing business in the power and infrastructure sector, who are seeking a Production Manager to lead their production operations at their facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in optimising day-to-day output, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
About the Role:
As Production Manager, you will take responsibility for overseeing all production activity within the facility. You'll lead a team of operators and technicians, work closely with engineering, supply chain and support departments, and ensure delivery of high-quality products on time, every time.
Responsibilities:
Production Oversight
1. Manage daily production operations and ensure timely output of quality products
2. Develop, monitor and optimise production schedules to align with customer demands
3. Analyse and improve production processes and drive efficiency
Leadership & Team Management
4. Lead, develop and motivate production staff
5. Promote a positive, performance-led culture across the team
6. Conduct performance reviews and oversee recruitment & training
Quality & Compliance
7. Uphold rigorous quality control standards
8. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
9. Champion continuous improvement and process innovation
Inventory & Resources
10. Oversee materials planning and inventory control
11. Collaborate with maintenance teams to keep machinery running at peak efficiency
12. Control production costs and minimise waste
What You'll Bring:
13. 5+ years in a production or operations management role (ideally manufacturing-based)
14. Proven leadership and team development skills
15. Excellent understanding of manufacturing workflows, lean practices, and quality systems
16. Strong planning, problem-solving and communication skills
17. Confident in managing production schedules, resources, and cost control
18. Adaptable, proactive and results-focused mindset
Preferred:
19. Degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing or similar
20. Knowledge of ERP/production software
21. Familiarity with switchgear or electrical manufacturing
22. Lean Six Sigma or similar qualifications
