We are looking for a dedicated and supportive Communications Support Worker to join our supportive and collaborative team.
As a Communication Support Worker, you will play a vital role in facilitating effective communication on a 1:1 basis for a hearing-impaired child in our school.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Providing support during classes and school activities, ensuring full access to the curriculum.
2. Assisting in delivering educational materials through sign language interpretation or other communication methods.
3. Collaborating with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
4. Encouraging the development of communication skills and independence.
5. Building rapport and trust, fostering a nurturing and respectful relationship.

This position is fixed-term/temporary, supporting a child with an Education, Health, and Care Plan. The contract will end on a specified date or sooner if the child's needs change or funding is withdrawn.
We are looking for someone who is:
1. Qualified in British Sign Language (BSL) or Signature registered BSL Level 1 or above.
2. A great communicator who builds positive relationships with children.

4. Understanding of the educational, welfare, and social needs of supported children.
5. Enthusiastic and committed to teamwork.
