NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing Accountancy Practice based in Nantwich to recruit an Accountancy Practice Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and client-focused accountant looking to step into a leadership role acting as a key link between the Directors and the wider accounts team.
The role will involve managing a portfolio of clients while supporting and mentoring junior team members, ensuring high-quality service delivery and strong technical compliance across the practice.
Accountancy Practice Manager Responsibilities
* Managing a portfolio of owner-managed business clients across a range of sectors
* Reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, and working papers prepared by junior team members
* Monitoring reporting deadlines and ensuring timely delivery of client work
* Reviewing VAT returns and tax computations to ensure accuracy and compliance
* Ensuring all assignments are completed in line with UK GAAP and internal procedures
* Acting as a key point of contact between Directors and junior members of the accounts team
* Supporting, mentoring, and developing Accounts Assistants and junior staff
* Attending client meetings alongside Directors where appropriate
* Managing client queries and building strong, long-term client relationships
* Identifying opportunities to provide additional services to clients where appropriate
* Supporting workflow planning and ensuring efficient delivery across the team
Accountancy Practice Manager Experience Required
To be successful in your application, you should have the following experience:
Essential:
* ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
* Strong background working within an Accountancy Practice environment
* Excellent technical knowledge of UK GAAP and statutory accounts preparation
* Experience reviewing work completed by junior staff
* Strong client-facing communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Desirable:
* Previous experience supporting or supervising junior team members
* Experience managing a portfolio of clients
