Support Worker - Young People Support Service
Location: Harlow (Ladyshot)
Salary: £27,404 per annum (including base salary + 6% AW + £1300 UWH)
Hours: 35 hours/week (plus 5 hours paid lunch breaks). Shift work and weekends required. Shifts: 8am-4pm (early) and 12pm-8pm (late).

Nacro is pleased to introduce Essex NEST (Nacro Education Support and Transition), a new support provision focused on assisting young people. You will manage your own caseload, overseeing their progress from entry to independence, using a trauma-informed approach with the mantra: “No decision about you without you!”
We are recruiting staff to work with:
* Young people aged 16-17 at risk of homelessness
* Care leavers aged 18-21
* Vulnerable young parents up to age 21
* Other vulnerable 18-21-year-olds
Who are we looking for?
Support Worker with experience supporting young people, helping with accommodation, benefits, finances, employment, training, and addressing offending behaviour. Liaison with offender managers and third-party agencies is essential.
Driving license and access to a vehicle are required for travel across the county. Previous criminal justice or support work experience is desirable but not essential.
Key duties include:
* Develop and implement support and safety plans with service users, referring to specialist agencies as needed. Record, monitor, review, and update progress and outcomes regularly.
* Maximize rent collection and welfare benefit claims, taking proactive steps to minimize rent arrears and addressing issues per policy.
* Report property maintenance and damages promptly.
* Ensure DBS checks are completed.
This role requires a full UK driving license and use of a personal vehicle.
