Construction Buyer
Stevenage
Contract - 12 Months (2 Days a week onsite)
Salary £40.00 per hour Umbrella
ARM has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Buyer to join a fast paced team at a Global Defence Company.
The Role:
1. Manage suppliers and where necessary build up longer term supplier management expectations
2. Build strong relationships with suppliers in order to meet Internal Customer requirements effectively.
3. Build strong relationships with FM, Security & SHE Team in order to support their requirements and needs
4. Actively support functional excellence programmes, identifying areas for improvement where new processes may be required
5. Lead low value/low complexity negotiations with suppliers to optimise cost, delivery and quality of products
Requirements:
6. Significant practical experience, vocational or academic qualifications
7. Strong team and communication skills
8. Good written, verbal and presentation skills
9. Good negotiation skills
10. Proactive approach / self-starter and able to work under pressure
11. Good organisational, planning and admin skills
12. Pragmatic approach to problems & issues
13. Commercial experience of contract terms and conditions is required
14. Knowledge of cost make-up and pricing is desirable but not essential
