UK Research and Innovation is one of the most influential public bodies in the country, investing billions of pounds annually into research and innovation that shapes the future of science, technology, and society. As we enter a period of significant organisational change, we are looking for an exceptional Senior Finance Business Partner to help lead that journey.
This is not a routine finance role. You will work at the heart of UKRI's transformation agenda, partnering directly with senior leaders and Directors to shape financial strategy, drive smarter decision-making and strengthen financial capability across the organisation. You will bring both challenge and support to your stakeholders, combining commercial acumen with a genuine understanding of the organisation's strategic priorities.
Your responsibilities will span the full breadth of senior finance business partnering: managing complex budgets and multi-year forecasts, developing financial cases within business cases, overseeing month and year-end processes and ensuring compliance with DSIT and HMG financial controls. You will also deputise for the Head of Finance and contribute to wider Finance Directorate initiatives as the organisation evolves.
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or QBE) with a proven track record in senior finance roles, outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, and the confidence to influence at executive level. Experience of centralisation or managing central overhead costs would be a distinct advantage.
