We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to work at the forefront of innovation in Children and Young People’s Mental Health and to play an instrumental role in Hertfordshire. The service is a CYPMHS Tier 4 home treatment team (HTT) offering an alternative to inpatient admission for 13‑18‑year‑olds in a multidisciplinary setting.
Responsibilities
* Ensure effective assessment and provision of a high standard of care within the Home Treatment Team service.
* Act as a positive clinical lead and role model within the Home Treatment Team.
* Manage and develop the Home Treatment team to meet changing needs of service users.
* Set and monitor care standards for the Home Treatment Team.
* Ensure the day‑to‑day running of the service area is maintained to a high standard.
* Collaborate with the operational manager to manage the service and uphold higher standards of practice and delivery.
* Provide day‑to‑day management, leadership and supervision to the team.
* Manage team performance, meet KPI targets and support team members to provide excellent treatment for our service users.
* Work with the leadership team to continually review and develop the service.
Qualifications
* Registered nurse with experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health at band 6 or equivalent.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good knowledge of the Children Act and Mental Health Act.
* Good organisational skills and ability to work effectively within a management structure.
* Degree with experience of postgraduate level study or equivalent experience.
* ENB 998/Mentorship.
* Evidence of management or leadership development.
* Registration with a professional body and experience in managing staff in a multi‑professional setting.
* Significant experience working at band 6 level.
* Detailed awareness of legislation in service areas – DoH guidance, NPSA, PLACE, CQC, NHSLA, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act including understanding of standards.
* Ability to provide clinical supervision, appraisal, preceptorship and staff support methods.
* Experience of working in care settings.
* Appropriate UK professional registration.
Desirable Criteria
* Teaching/training experience.
* Knowledge of current developments in mental health, dementia care, learning disabilities care.
