Job Overview Are you looking to take the next step in your career, working within commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending? Citi is currently looking to hire a loan underwriter who can evaluate small and medium lot size commercial real estate as collateral for lending, assess borrower creditworthiness, review due diligence, process credit approvals then monitor loan performance. This is an Associate Vice President or Vice President role in-business role based in London. What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are : Evaluate commercial real estate properties along with market dynamics and futures drivers of performance. This may cover a wide range of commercial real estate asset classes such as industrial, retail, offices and living sector Strong understanding of lending/underwriting criteria to make sure loans meet the required standard Judgement/in business screening on whether CRE loan applications are suitable & prudent lending cases and should be considered for extension of credit Assessment of credit risks relating to CRE property/borrowers and mitigants. Analysis and modelling of commercial real estate and loans Preparation of credit memos and presentations for credit committee approvals Management of loan execution process, including discussions with third parties, servicers, clients and advisers Working with internal partners including risk, legal and onboarding Involvement in monitoring of financings and other ad hoc workstreams What we will need from you: Experience in lending on commercial real estate for small and medium balance loans is required Knowledge of the commercial real estate property market Strong computing, numeracy and analytical skills required Strong interpersonal and communication (written and spoken) skills - English (required) Ability and willingness to travel for work in Europe Efficiency minded Self-motivated and a strong work ethic Ability to multi-task and meet short deadlines University degree or similar We work hard to have a positive financial and social impact on the communities we serve.
