Job Purpose
To deliver a statutory social work service to promote and protect the welfare of vulnerable service users, their families and carers in need of care and/or protection. The post holder will work within children’s residential provision, contributing to the provision of a recovery‑based ethos of care that allows young people to feel safe and protected.
Requirements
* CQSW/Diploma in Social Work
* SVQ Level 9 Residential Care or willingness to work towards in accordance with SSSC registration requirements
* SSSC Registration or equivalent
* Protection of Vulnerable Group Check (PVG)
Responsibilities
* Sound and current knowledge of theory and practice relevant to children and families
* Ability to work effectively within a team and with a wide range of professionals to improve outcomes for children and young people
* Ability to assess and manage risk
* Ability to assess and communicate effectively with children and young people
* Interviewing and investigation skills
* Support others to develop independent living skills including budgeting, wellbeing and education/learning and employability
* Manage constant and often conflicting demands
* Make decisions and take responsibility for own practice, seeking advice and support as necessary
