SEN Teaching Assistant - KS2 (Sandwell) Full-Time | September 2026 Start | Long-Term OpportunityAre you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding SEN role in Sandwell where you can make a genuine difference every day?A welcoming and well-respected primary school in Sandwell is looking to appoint a dedicated KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 5 on a 1:1 basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team in a school known for its inclusive approach and strong pastoral care. The RoleAs a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide consistent, tailored support to a Year 5 pupil with additional needs
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions
* Support the pupil's academic progress, emotional regulation, and social development
* Adapt learning materials to suit individual needs
* Help create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
This role requires someone who can build a strong, trusting relationship and provide both academic and pastoral support. About the PupilThe pupil is engaging and eager to learn but requires additional support with:
* Focus and attention in the classroom
* Emotional regulation
* Accessing the KS2 curriculum
Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or SEMH needs would be highly beneficial. What We're Looking ForWe are seeking a Teaching Assistant who:
* Has previous experience supporting SEN pupils, ideally in KS2
* Is patient, resilient, and nurturing
* Can confidently manage behaviour in a calm and positive way
* Builds strong relationships with pupils and staff
* Is proactive and willing to take initiative
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, but not essential for the right candidate. Why This School?
