We're now looking for a skilled Senior Buyer with strong electrical procurement and materials planning expertise to help drive our supply chain performance. Our Langley site is well-connected by road and rail, including nearby access to Langley train station. The Role: Senior Buyer Electrical/Mechanical Materials Planning Were seeking a commercially astute Senior Buyer to lead electrical and mechanical procurement and oversee strategic materials planning across production operations. While the focus will be on electrical component buying, youll also manage the sourcing of mechanical parts where required making this a great opportunity for someone with a well-rounded technical purchasing background. Youll use your negotiation skills, supplier insight, and ERP expertise to ensure smooth material availability and cost-effective procurement. Key Responsibilities Lead buying activity for electrical and electronic components, including supplier negotiation and performance management Support procurement of mechanical components and assemblies Own all aspects of materials planning using ERP/MRP systems Collaborate with production, engineering, and finance to align material availability with demand Analyse lead times, costs, and supplier reliability to reduce risk and improve supply chain performance Maintain strong stock control and forward-planning processes to support production Contribute to continuous improvement projects within procurement and planning Your First 90 Days Learn our ERP system and supply chain processes Take over key supplier relationships and purchasing responsibilities Identify and act on opportunities to improve supplier terms, reduce lead times, and optimise material flow What Were Looking For 5 years in a Senior Buyer, Purchasing, or Materials Planning role Strong experience sourcing electrical components, ideally in electronics or electrical manufacturing Some experience or understanding of mechanical procurement Proven negotiation skills and supplier relationship management Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Sage, Oracle) Comfortable working within a fast-paced SME environment CIPS or equivalent supply chain qualification preferred What Youll Get in Return £55,000 £60,000 salary 25 days holiday 8 bank holidays Pension scheme & private healthcare Hybrid working typically 2 days a week from home Free on-site parking The opportunity to shape a critical supply chain function within a collaborative team Apply Now If youve got a background in materials planning, electrical and mechanical buying, and thrive in a hands-on, commercially focused supply chain role wed love to hear from you.
