We have built brand new healthcare facilities as part of our Making Room for Dignity programme and have exciting opportunities for newly qualified Registered Nursesacross these units and our other inpatient wards in Derby and Chesterfield.
This is an opportunity to join a new wider multi-disciplinary team, supportinga range ofpatientswith complex acute mental health needs. As a newly qualified Mental Health nurse we will provide you with an excellent preceptorship programme to develop you as a healthcare professional.
Our team supports those with a functional mental health illness. We work proactively with our patient group and their loved ones promoting independence and choice in their care. We have opportunities across PICU, female enhanced care ward and adult acute male and female only wards. You would be expected to join our preceptorship programme in September/October 2025.
Main duties of the job
You will:
* Work as part of a team responsible for the delivery of Patient/Client Centred Care.
* Promote and support service user and carer involvement as autonomy and choices are an integral part of the philosophy of the Trust.
* Respond to the needs of people in an honest, non-judgemental and open manner which respects the rights of individuals and groups.
* Work closely with colleagues to ensure that clinical services are delivered to the highest standard and in accordance with the most recent evidence based guidance.
* As a registered nurse, be personally accountable for your professional practice that will be delivered in accordance with the legal and professional responsibilities outlined by the NMC.
* Ensure that services are provided in a safe and supportive environment and at all times adopt a professional approach to your work promoting a positive image to services users/carers and the general public.
You must be dynamic, organised, enthusiastic and motivated with evidence of continued professional development, with excellent communication and assessment skills and be able to use your initiative and keep calm in a busy and unpredictable environment.
You will join a nurturing team providing individualised recovery focused assessment and care planning. You will be expected to demonstrate our Trust values in all your interactions with patients, carers and staff.

Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification or close to completion
* Current NMC Registration (By required start date)
Experience
* Demonstrate a good awareness of the Mental Health Act and other legislation relevant to the service area
* Ability to recognise the importance of care planning and providing quality care
* Have a good understanding of risk management, assessing and formulating risk
* Understanding of working in a least restrictive manner
