A Vacancy at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, enthusiastic and highly specialised Cardiac Physiologist/Clinical Scientist to lead and develop our CRM and Invasive service here at UHCW Trust. UHCW is one of the largest acute trust’s in the country, with 17 Cardiology Consultants, and provides world class innovation and research in all aspects of Cardiology. The post holder will report to the Head of Cardiac Investigations Department and be responsible for managing a team of Cardiac Physiologists, supporting training needs of junior physiologists and specialist registrars. Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP. University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, rated as good by the Care Quality Commission, is one of the largest teaching Trusts in the UK.


Responsibilities

1. Work independently as a highly specialist practitioner across the range of CRM devices and invasive procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
2. Actively contribute to service developments and expansion.
3. Manage a team of Cardiac Physiologists, participate in appraisals and work to achieve agreed set objectives.
4. Ensure relevant accreditation is maintained for self and team.


Additional Responsibilities and Qualifications

* Have significant experience working independently as a band 7 specialist practitioner in CRM and Cath lab procedures and techniques.
* Provide operational management support to the DCI manager/Chief Clinical Physiologist for the specified area within Cardiac Investigations.
* Provide nationally accredited highly specialist expertise for clinical practice, ensuring procedures and data are to required standard and documented per guidelines.
* Work across all sites as required, managing workload for your designated clinical area, ensuring effective workforce planning, maximised capacity and robust service delivery.
* Ensure diagnostic tests are performed in accordance with protocols and diagnostic reports containing complex facts and measurements are accurate and produced timely.
* Actively contribute to service developments and expansion, taking part in Audits, Capacity and Demand planning and supporting business case developments.
* Experienced in CP-led services and understanding how to introduce such services to UHCW, to drive efficiencies and meet capacity needs.
* Manage a team of cardiac physiologists, participate in appraisals and personal reviews, achieve agreed objectives, including required attendance of national and departmental meetings and nationally accredited courses.
* Ensure full BHRS/IBHRE accreditation is maintained for self and team.
* Undertake further training as required for professional development and service provision and be actively involved in clinical governance of service and service development.
* Manage financial budget and ensure adequate stock levels of consumables, effective utilisation of resources and continual service delivery.
* Support the Cardiology Operational Management Team in development and adherence of protocols and procedure guidelines to ensure compliance with Trust/Operational requirements.
