Overview

Job Title: Clinical Nursing Manager

Reporting to: Group Nursing Manager
Location: Dudley Hospital
Salary: From £35,000 per annum dependent on experience
Hours: 37.5 HPW, 1 in 5 weekends


About the Role

We are looking for a Clinical Nursing Manager to join our team at Blacks and would love to hear from you. We are recruiting for an RVN with at least 5 years post qualification experience with leadership experience to work alongside the clinical team and develop this practice. We seek an excellent communicator who is highly organized and comfortable working with autonomy in our busy practice.

The Clinical Nursing Manager is key to the business’s ability to provide a high level of clinical standards, ensuring that patients are managed effectively from a nursing perspective to support further growth of the practice. Working with the leadership team, you will demonstrate an excellent work protocol in all nursing duties while taking overall responsibility for our team of Nurses.

As Clinical Nursing Manager, you will be an advocate for veterinary nursing, creating a culture of clinical excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development across the practice. This role balances clinical work and leadership, with an emphasis on team management, rota oversight, nurse utilisation, and service delivery.

You will ensure quality assurance of nursing care and standard operating procedures and lead the implementation of CPD and training initiatives aligned with our vision for growth. Working closely with senior leadership, you will provide strategic, professional, and operational input while ensuring clinical standards and team wellbeing remain a priority.

The Clinical Nursing Manager will also act as a key member of the wider leadership team, contributing to discussions around resource management, workflow, financial considerations, and strategic planning.


Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the nursing team; oversee rota planning and nurse utilisation.
• Maintain high clinical standards and quality assurance for nursing care and SOPs.
• Lead CPD initiatives and training aligned with practice growth.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning, resources, and service delivery.


Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Leadership experience and strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work with autonomy in a busy practice.
