Job Overview
The post holder will primarily be based at Homerton and will need to work flexibly across different teams and partnered laboratories.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate effective leadership and management capabilities while working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
* Be conversant with the technologies and methodologies specific to the core and specialist Biochemistry Laboratory.
* Retain a supervisory role in the sections of the department appropriate to their competency and be able to carry out and manage the technical and scientific tasks for which they are responsible.
* Support, maintain and develop the quality, learning, health and safety, and Management Systems within the designated work area.
* Collaborate between work areas and networked laboratories.
* Participate in the laboratory work roster.
Qualifications
* Must be registered with the HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist.
* Must hold one of the following:
o CPSM Log book (Clinical Biochemistry) if qualified before 2003.
o Registration portfolio IBMS (Clinical Biochemistry 2003 to 2004) and Diploma in Biomedical Science IBMS (Blood Sciences 2005).
o Specialist Diploma IBMS (Clinical Biochemistry 2005 onwards).
* Fellowship (Clinical Chemistry), MSc Biomedical Science or equivalent qualification at MSc level.
About the Pathology Partnership
The NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership is an arms‑length organisation providing pathology services to Barts Health NHS Trust, Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The Partnership has a main hub laboratory at the Royal London Hospital and Essential Service Laboratories (ESL) at six other hospital sites. It operates three divisions: Blood Sciences (including Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Biochemistry), Microbiology and Virology, and Cellular Pathology and Cancer Diagnostics.
