Established in 1999, my client is a customer-focused planning, environment, and design consultancy with extensive experience in adding value to a range of development schemes. They work with various building material, minerals & waste,mercial and residential clients amongst others.It's an exciting time currently, they are looking for a Consultant/Senior Ecologist to join their close-knit and growing Ecology team.Their other departments offer various planning and environmental services that work closely together to give aprehensive service to their clients.
Your new role
1. Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (habitat surveys and condition assessments).
2. Biodiversity Impact Assessments.
3. Protected and priority species surveys.
4. Preparing quotations and tenders.
5. Ecological Impact Assessments and further detailed assessments.
6. Project management and organisation.
7. Carrying out desk studies, consultations, research, data management and analysis, and report writing.
8. Liaising with clients and statutory bodies.
What You'll Need to Succeed
9. Good consultancy experience (not just ECoW but writing reports and project management)
10. Excellentmunication skills including report writing and client liaison
11. Thorough knowledge of wildlife legislation and the planning system leading to confidence in providing technical advice to clients.
12. Full range of survey skills including habitat surveys and protected species surveys
13. Experience using the BNG metrics
14. Be a member of CIEEM
15. Attention to detail and the ability to deliver contracts on time and to budget
16. A client-focused approach where themercial element of each project can be understood and appreciated
17. The ability to work in a team or for longer periods of time alone
18. Flexible approach to working hours to amodate seasonality and survey time constraints.
19. Full driving license
20. QGIS skills
Desirable skills and experience
21. A bat licence (Class 1 or 2)
22. Ornithology expertise
23. A full membership with CIEEM
24. Experience of writing ES chapters and or HRA’s
25. Experience of writing EPSL applications, preferably held in your name
