Our client is currently looking to recruit a QC Microbiology Technician to join their laboratory team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong attention to detail and a passion for quality and compliance to further develop their career within a regulated environment.
This role sits at the core of laboratory operations, where you’ll be responsible for maintaining the smooth day-to-day running of the microbiology lab. You’ll ensure that equipment is maintained and ready for use, consumables are appropriately stocked, and all activities are carried out in line with GMP, GLP, and internal SOPs.
Working closely with Scientists and Senior Scientists, you’ll provide essential support across a range of microbiological activities. Your responsibilities will include media preparation, sterilisation processes, stock culture maintenance, and environmental monitoring. You’ll also be involved in in‑process sampling, growth promotion testing, and responding to equipment or environmental excursions as required.
A key part of the role is maintaining accurate documentation, from completing logbooks and archiving records to ensuring controlled versions of SOPs are in place and followed at all times. You’ll also take ownership of stock control–monitoring levels, rotating supplies, raising orders, and managing deliveries–ensuring the lab is always audit‑ready.
This position requires a proactive and organised approach, with a strong focus on compliance, safety, and continuous improvement. You’ll be expected to follow EH&S guidelines, COSHH assessments, and contribute to quality processes, including raising and supporting corrective actions where needed.
