We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a Full Time, Permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
2. Maintain a high standard of service to customers as expected by Barnardo's.
3. Implement promotions in the store as directed by Head Office or the Area Business Manager.
4. Maintain high standards of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the store.
5. Ensure adequate stock is available on the shop floor at all times, especially on key lines.
6. Provide training, development, work reviews, and appraisals for paid staff to enable effective performance.
7. Create an organized and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
8. Actively recruit the correct number of volunteers to meet store objectives and KPIs.
9. Ensure all financial, cash handling, and security procedures are followed as per Barnardo's policies.
10. Hold shop keys and ensure the shop is secure when unattended.
Requirements:
* Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
* Experience in managing people.
* Good communication skills to liaise with diverse backgrounds.
* Ability to meet customer needs face-to-face to generate sales and increase usage.
* Numerical skills to manage budgets and complete weekly income/banking sheets accurately.
* Experience in handling cash and reconciling accounts.
* Proven track record of meeting targets and KPIs.
* Basic IT skills.
Working Pattern:
The store operates 7 days a week. The successful candidate will work on a rota basis, including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
