Band 2 – £12.51 per hour (£24,465 per annum pro rata). Holmer Court, Colchester. 12 hours per week. Rota: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 16:30 – 19:30. Job purpose
To participate in the provision of in-house Facilities Management (FM) services within a specified area of the Trust. Services may include cleaning, catering, portering, bed making and laundering, with some services being unit-specific.
Main duties of the job
* Domestic Service (including Rapid Response): ensure assigned ward(es) or areas are cleaned to the required standard; manage work schedules with your supervisor; use colour-coded equipment; report faults and supply issues; maintain cross-infection controls; store equipment and disposables securely; dispose of waste correctly; assist with appropriate kitchen-related duties (regeneration of meals, serving and clearing meals, cleaning crockery and cutlery).
* Laundry Service: launder patient clothing, duvets, curtains and related items; ensure items are laundered to standard, re-process or iron as needed, label personal items, separate clean and dirty items to prevent cross-infection, and keep laundry areas tidy and equipment clean.
* Portering: deliver and collect items (pharmacy boxes, records, linen, meals, general stores); assist with ad-hoc tasks (transporting patients with staff, medical gases, setting up rooms); assist with site duties including waste management, car park tidiness, fire procedures, gritting and snow clearance as required.
