The Role
As a General Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with class teachers and therapists to provide consistent, compassionate support across the school day. You’ll help create a safe, stimulating environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support (max. 8 pupils per class)
2. Assist with personal care, sensory integration, and communication needs
3. Implement structured routines and behaviour support strategies
4. Foster independence, engagement, and emotional wellbeing
5. Work collaboratively with teachers, LSAs, and external professionals
What We’re Looking For
6. Experience supporting children with autism and/or PMLD (school or care settings)
7. A calm, patient, and proactive approach
8. Confidence with personal care and physical support needs
9. A genuine passion for inclusive education and making a difference
