Agratas is on a mission to shape the future of battery cell innovation. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced NMC Senior Product Engineer to join our Product Ownership & Validation team in Coventry.
In this role, you will lead the engineering development and readiness of nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery cells, ensuring that designs meet rigorous quality, cost, and delivery targets. You’ll work cross-functionally with experts in design, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to bring next-generation battery technology to life.
What You’ll Do
* Own and manage the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBoM) ensuring accuracy and lifecycle traceability.
* Develop assembly drawings for NMC cells and subassemblies, ensuring compatibility with tooling, equipment, and processes.
* Provide expert guidance on CAD standards, GD&T application, and design best practices.
* Drive integration and alignment across Supply Chain, Requirements, and CAD Engineers to maintain design integrity.
* Support APQP activities and lead PPAP documentation for compliance with IATF 16949 and customer requirements.
* Act as the product development lead, managing timelines and deliverables across internal and external stakeholders.
* Investigate and resolve product issues using structured problem-solving methods (e.g. 8D, Six Sigma).
* Influence strategy and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize battery cell performance.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific field.
* Strong technical background in NMC battery technology.
* Proven experience with EBOM management in PLM systems (e.g. Teamcenter).
* Deep knowledge of failure modes and design challenges in NMC cell development.
* Proficient in GD&T, stack-up analysis, and assembly design validation.
* Solid experience in battery cell validation, integration, or product development.
* Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Track record in problem-solving using Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
Desired Extras:
* Experience working in a technical role within a Tier 1 battery manufacturer.
* Familiarity with regulatory and quality compliance in battery manufacturing.
* Experience handling confidential technical data and intellectual property in supplier engagements.
* Strong understanding of engineering delivery using PLM tools.
