Job title: Statutory Compliance Engineer

Location: Warton or Samlesbury - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £47,683+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

* Ownership of certain asset types associated with statutory compliance and development of standards, specifications and processes relating to the management and use of systems and asset types requiring statutory compliance management
* Surveys, audits, and process confirmations of systems and assets within field of influence, their condition
* Ownership, monitoring and managing supplier performance
* Identification of opportunities for efficiency improvements, development of business cases and support to the implementation of opportunities
* Provide specialist support to facilities management engineers and maintenance professionals across Air locations
* Collaboration with external stakeholders to ensure quality, continuity, and safety of utilities and building systems
* Supporting the wider Engineering and Sustainability team on the development of innovation opportunities to decarbonise the estate and manufacturing systems
* Delivery of awareness/training to other relevant stakeholders

Your skills and experiences:

Knowledge of industry standards, guidance and legislation in relation to statutory systems e.g. Fire Systems, LOLER, PUWER, Legionella

Previous experience of reviewing policies, processes or working practices, identifying gaps and making suggestions for change as appropriate undertaking and taking part in audit reviews

Experience working with stakeholders to develop and maintain robust internal controls over key business processes

Ability to work well in a team environment as well as autonomously, without the need for day-to-day direct oversight

A good verbal communicator, able to influence others and report effectively with the ability to produce excellent written work and presentations

The Infrastructure and Facilities Management Team:

To strengthen the BAE Systems Air business, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Infrastructure and Facilities management Team as a Statutory Compliance Engineer. The role can be Warton or Samlesbury based but will need to support work across the Air Sector. (Travel to other air sites as and when required.

Reporting to the Facilities Electrical Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for matters of Statutory Compliance across Air.

Given the skills necessary for such a role, the applicants should have experience in contractor and supplier management, and managing systems associated with running an estate and its associated infrastructure; good knowledge of fire protection, open water systems, PSSR or LOLER would also be advantageous.
