What you will do
* Lead shifts and provide inspiring day-to-day supervision of care staff, ensuring consistent and safe care delivery.
* Assist in the implementation and review of personalised care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies tailored to individual needs.
* Foster a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment to support children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
* Manage incidents, safeguarding concerns, and challenging behaviours with confidence, ensuring all appropriate reporting and follow-up are completed.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management
* Commitment to continuous professional development
Registration & Compliance
* Knowledge of Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and safeguarding children frameworks
* Understanding of the Care Standards Act 2000
* Enhanced DBS clearance
Key Skills
* Strong leadership and team coordination skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people
* Understanding of behaviour management and therapeutic approaches
* Effective communication and organisational skills
* Ability to remain composed and make decisions in challenging situations
Experience
* Experience working within a children's residential care setting
* Experience supporting children with complex emotional and behavioural needs
* Previous experience in a senior support or team leader role (desirable)
* Experience working within Ofsted-regulated services (advantageous)
