We are looking for a motivated Band 3 Physiotherapy Technical instructor to join our well-established Cardiac Rehabilitation team at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking team member to join the Cardiac Rehab team based at St Richards Hospital, Chichester at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. Your role will include; the treatment of cardiac conditions in out-patient clinics and community exercise venues and running exercise groups. You will also have administrative responsibilities as part of this role. You will have good patient facing experience and ideally experience of working with patients with cardiac conditions although training will be provided. Excellent communication skills are a must, and experience in working as part of a team. We will support your training to gain the required cardiac rehabilitation qualifications.

Main duties of the job
• To provide treatment for a range of Cardiac patients referred to the Cardiac Rehabilitation service, in cross-site & community settings, in accordance with the BACPR guidelines and national/local health and safety standards.
• To be involved with data collection/audit to monitor service, general statistic collation and outcome measures the team are using.
• To assist with the clerical and professional administrative tasks required to provide an efficient and effective high-quality service.
• To provide information and advice to patients, carers and other health and social care professions on areas within the grades scope of practice
• To work in collaboration with the wider MDT and health professionals in primary care.
• To participate in CPD, IST, data collection, audit, evidence-based projects and service development projects

Professional Registration
Essential criteria
1. Completion of healthcare apprenticeship or equivalent
Desirable criteria
2. Previous experience at Band 3 Physio assistant/tech role
Experience/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
3. Knowledge of BACPR guidelines and Standards
4. 6 months or more of working as a physiotherapy / occupational therapy or Healthcare assistant delivering patient care.
5. Experience of working in a team
Desirable criteria
6. Relevant courses / training in specific speciality / to include Heart Failure and monitoring BACPR courses
7. Evidence of relevant clinical experience in specialism in an NHS Cardiac Rehab setting.
8. Knowledge of Cardiac anatomy and physiology, and management of related pathologies.

9. Recognising when to escalate unwell patients, queries and other issues to Team lead/ nursing staff as appropriate
10. Good communication skills within the MDT, patients, families and carers, and community colleagues
11. IT competent
12. Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues
