Job Title: Senior Resource Manager
Location: London
Working Arrangement: 12-month FTC – hybrid working
Requirements: Prior experience in work allocation or resource management within a legal, professional services or corporate environment.
The Senior Resource Manager will support a key practice group by leading work allocation and resource management. The Senior Resource Manager will help establish a more structured approach to resourcing, strengthen diversity and inclusion, support people management and development in a flexible working environment, and enhance collaboration across teams and locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive even utilisation across teams and locations, improving efficiency and enabling stronger cross‑team collaboration.
* Ensure fair, skills‑based work allocation across sub‑teams, reducing unconscious bias and giving all fee earners equal access to opportunities.
* Strengthen career development by broadening exposure to work that aligns with individual skills, goals and aspirations, improving engagement and retention.
* Identify training needs, performance concerns and wellbeing issues earlier, coordinating proactively with Partners, HR, PSLs and L&D.
* Provide improved management information to support people‑related decision-making, including creating MI packs where needed.
* Optimise profitability by aligning resource allocation with client rates and supporting the national working strategy.
* Support the rollout, training and ongoing development of a new resource management tool, adapting processes and structures as required.
About You
* Previous experience in work allocation or resource management within legal, professional services, or corporate environments is highly beneficial.
* Qualified lawyer, law graduate, or professional with relevant legal-sector or resource‑management experience.
* Strong commercial awareness and sound business judgement.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
