Overview
An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Senior Clinical Fellow within Trauma, Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery at Salford Royal Hospital. This is a fixed-term post which will provide an opportunity to learn and develop a wide range of sub-speciality skills in the management of Orthopaedics. The appointee will participate in Major Trauma Hospital services to residents of Salford and will provide 10 PA's per week (9 PA's DCC and 1 SPA) including outpatient clinics, elective operating theatre lists, major trauma, administration and on-call. The appointee will be based at Salford Royal Hospital with elective lists predominantly at Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary. The successful candidate must have full GMC registration and hold a Licence to Practise. Active support will be provided for basic science and clinical research/audit with expectations to present and publish as appropriate.
Responsibilities

Qualifications and Registration
* Essential: Full GMC Registration and a Licence to Practise
* Essential: MBChB or Equivalent
* Essential: MRCS or equivalent
* Essential: An appropriate higher qualification in Trauma and Orthopaedics
* Essential: ATLS
* Desirable: Higher degree such as FRCS T&O, PG Master, PG Diploma
* Desirable: 4 or more years Orthopaedics experience
* Desirable: Evidence of research and Audit

* Essential: Eligible to live & work in the UK
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* Essential: 1 year Registrar level experience with competence in general trauma surgery
* Essential: Interest and knowledge of audit; evidence of completion of audits
* Essential: Published research or audits or case reports in peer-reviewed journals
* Desirable: Higher degree in research
* Desirable: Reviewer for medical journals
Skills & Abilities
* Essential: Proven ability to teach; evidence of commitment to CPD
* Desirable: Formal teaching qualification
