Job summary
We are inviting applicants to apply for a full time post as a Specialist Grade in Oral post holder will have clinical sessions at both sites, as this is a cross site working position.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate actively in the diagnosis, management and follow-up of patients. The main role for the right candidate would be to run oral surgery consultation clinics, minor operation sessions under local anaesthetic independently, as well as assist the department consultant and other clinician with a variety of specialised oral surgery procedures in the general anaesthetic theatre sessions. We have a dedicated oral surgery department nurse, as well as outpatient nurses who assist in the oral surgery clinics and minor operations. Further opportunities will be available for the right candidate to progress into operating independently for theatre sessions.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be expected to work with Colleagues and the Divisional Clinical Director to ensure the service is delivered in line with best practice.
The post-holder will:
1. Participate in the Postgraduate and Undergraduate teaching programmes, and teaching of other healthcare professionals, within the department
2. Support and teach colleagues on a day to day basis, for example, during handovers, ward rounds and outpatient clinic
3. Participate in appraisal and assessment of junior medical colleagues, as delegated by the Unit Training Director

There's a £5.3million molecular diagnostic laboratory soon to open at Ipswich, and works begins soon for a new Breast Care Centre and a Children's Unit.

9. Full Registration with the General Medical Council
10. Full MRCP (UK)
11. Completion of 12 years Medical work since obtaining primary Medical Qualification
12. Sufficient experience at SpR level & ability to work on the on call rota
13. Clinically evaluates and manages a patient, formulating a prioritised differential diagnosis, initiating an appropriate management plan, and reviewing and adjusting this depending on the outcomes of treatment.
14. Manages the difficulties of dealing with complexity and uncertainty in the care of patients
15. Develops effective relationships across teams and contributes to work and success of these teams - promotes and participates in both multidisciplinary and interprofessional team working.
