Tasks and responsibilities:
Main purpose of job
* To manage an assigned floor/area within the warehouse, including operational processes, people, and client relationships.
* To proactively plan labour, equipment, and activities related to these processes during the shift.
* To promote and foster a culture of working safely and support the development of the team and individuals within it.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
* To manage the people and processes related to an assigned floor/process.
* To ensure the right resources are deployed successfully.
* To promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to safe practices throughout the warehouse; taking appropriate action in line with company procedures in case of health and safety breaches.
* To proactively identify and resolve problems with minimal disruption to service.
* To foster a positive working environment through regular communication, feedback, encouragement of ideas, skill development, understanding concerns, and celebrating successes.
* To monitor individual and team performance, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and training for improvement and development.
* To support the Shift Manager during performance management, absence, and disciplinary processes.
* To promote and create a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and acting on areas for enhancement.
* To undertake or lead ad hoc projects as required.
